Close and effective communication and collaboration among program administrators at the respective SYLFF institutions are indispensable to the successful administration and development of the SYLFF Program.

In order to facilitate communication and collaboration between The Tokyo Foundation and SYLFF institutions as well as among SYLFF institutions, a meeting of SYLFF Program administrators is convened biennially.

The participants discuss SYLFF follow-up programs, exchange information on the SYLFF Program at their respective institutions, listen to presentations by the SYLFF Fellows Council, and engage in discussion on specific themes pertinent to higher education, as well as familiarize themselves with the host institution and its environment.

The past meetings have been convened at the following places:

• 1997 Vancouver and Barcelona
• 1998 Uppsala University, Sweden
• 2000 San Diego, USA
• 2002 Tokyo, Japan
• 2005 Ateneo de Manila, Philippines

The seventh meeting is scheduled to take place in January 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark, which will be hosted by the University of Copenhagen.

This will be a special meeting as 2007 marks the 20th anniversary of the SYLFF Program.
