Kiminori Matsuyama
Professor, Department of Economics, Northwestern University
Received his BA in international relations from the University of Tokyo in 1980 and his PhD in economics from Harvard University in 1987. Became an assistant professor of economics at Northwestern University in 1987, associate professor in 1991, and has been professor since 1995. Became the Foundation’s chief scientific adviser in December 2018. Is a fellow of the Econometric Society and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Was also a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago and a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
