Senior Fellow Fumiaki Kubo has been named to chair a new government panel to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on international politics and the global economy. The seven-member advisory panel of private-sector experts also includes Senior Fellow Yuichi Hosoya.

The announcement was made on June 17, 2020, by Yasutoshi Nishimura, minister of state for economic and fiscal policy. The panel will examine the pandemic’s repercussions on the policies of other countries, the international order, the global supply chain, and the maintenance of free trade systems.
