平成18年3月に東京大学医学部を卒業した後、千葉県・都内の病院にて血液内科医として勤務。平成23年3月の東日本大震災発生以降、南相馬市立総合病院・相馬中央病院・ひらた中央病院を拠点に主にホールボディーカウンターを用いた内部被ばく検査を中心とする医療支援に従事。診療を行う傍ら、放射線に関する計測や被曝を心配する被災者の健康相談、福島県および市町村の放射線対策にも関わっている。令和2年6月より公立大学法人福島県立医科大学放射線健康管理学講座主任教授、放射線医学県民健康管理センター健康コミュニケーション室長。
